I have just started working on the Battle of the Books Team. I am looking forward to helping out our BoB person (Maureen) as much as possible as well as working on the Score Challenge. It is interesting to work with others from other branches and even with the Media Specialists in the community. We can learn a lot from each other.
The Branch Leadership Team meetings are always interesting. We had a great time going on a "field trip" last year to the new Owings Mills Library. It was great to share this experience with the team.

The most fascinating thing I learned about Operations is how long Scott has worked here! Wow! 30+ years is a long time. Must be a great place to work! :)

CCPL's Programming Philosophy
Why is library programming important? It is important because it acquaints people with the library, potentially increases circulation and bolsters that CCPL mission of lifelong learning. Personally, I agree with this philosophy. Get the people in with a program that they enjoy and they might stick around see what else the library has to offer. We want people to discover us!

Interlibrary Loan
I scheduled a reservation in our large meeting room and called Doris Keck to learn how to delete it. She wasn't in so I left a message. However! In her answering machine message, she said to cancel a room you could leave her a message with the room info and she would take care of it. Whenever I need to cancel a room reservation, I email her. I asked her to let me know if there is a different way of doing this.
